Share, Reduce, Re-use, Recycle

Whenever possible, we should always lean towards eco-friendly practices. Save water, save electricity, we already know this. We also need to stop buying things we don’t really need.

We live in a world trashed by consumerism. This societal monster is the king of the world, and most people are slaves to it. Shopping addiction is prevalent, perhaps more than we can imagine. Hording has become so popular it now has its own TV show. Garages and homes are full with unused products, landfills are born every week.

We must learn to share, reduce our consumption, re-use our products, and recycle our trash. There are countless practices we can implement to make this possible. The more we share the less we will need to buy, and the less we buy, the less we will produce. This will help us put a stop on the constant exploitation of our earth’s resources.

Most companies and business would hate these ideas. They want you to buy until you die. Without a growing number of consumers, and constant purchases, most businesses can’t exist. The paradox is that businesses are run by people who need money, and the reason they need that money is that they want to buy things.

Of course, we all need some items to live a healthy life. What is important is to be intentional with our purchases, and continue learning how to share, reduce, re-use, and recycle. Practices and tips from minimalist experts can make a huge difference, and help all of us live in a better world. Some great books on minimalism are “Living with a Green Heart” by Gay Browne, “Declutter and Thrive” by Denise Allan, and “More Than Enough” by Miranda Anderson.
