Can Fruit-Based Diets Cure and Prevent Disease?
Fruit is a high-water-content food that grows naturally in our environment. It contains the essential vitamins and minerals needed for the healthy functioning of our organism.
Fruit also provides humans with the highest level of electricity and conductivity available through food consumption. We can see this by noticing how easy it is to power a light bulb with a lemon, and how impossible it is to do the same with a glass of milk, or animal flesh. These implications are much greater than most people realize. Especially when we consider that electrical impulses power our nervous system, without them, our brain can’t function.
We also know that it is easy to die from a surplus of acidity in our blood. To keeps us alive and healthy, our body is required to maintain a slightly alkaline pH level, especially in the blood. A pH of 7 is considered neutral, anything higher is alkaline and anything lower is acidic. The normal blood pH is tightly regulated between 7.35 and 7.45, which is slightly alkaline. Research shows that low blood pH levels can cause immediate coma and potential death. Increasing the blood pH from a lower level could be lifesaving. (1)
A quick Google search for “pH food chart” will provide you with countless images showing the pH levels of different foods. You may notice there are slight differences between the charts. This is because the pH level of different foods also depend on the soil, water, air and nutrients they are produced with, as well as the procedures used to measure them.
You will find that there is a clear trend among all charts. Most raw fruits and vegetables have alkaline pH levels. On the opposite side, most grains, animal products, and processed foods such as energy drinks, sodas, beer, wine, and coffee, have extremely acidic pH levels. These facts, along with scientific findings, suggest that it is prudent to consider an alkaline diet, to reduce illness and death from chronic diseases that are tormenting our population. (2)
Many contemporary doctors, including Dr. Robert Morse, agree that the root cause of almost all illnesses is acidosis. This condition refers to an overly acidic quality of the body’s fluids and tissues. These doctors agree that the main keys to health and healing is following a diet high on alkaline foods. This is the same logic behind Dr. Robert Young’s book “The pH Miracle” and “The Alkaline Diet Plan” by Dr. Connie Jeon. Thanks to this information and advice, thousands of people have healed many illnesses and disease following alkaline diets such as those based on fruit consumption.
All that being said, it is important to note that Alkaline diets don’t have the best reputation. Critics have slashed the Alkaline diet and framed it as pseudoscience. They suggest that there is no acidic metabolic waste byproducts resulting from digestion of animal products and processed foods. Other skeptics don’t even believe that what we eat alters the pH levels in our blood or in our cells. Luckily, we can test this ourselves using pH Test Strips for Urine and Saliva.
Too much alkalinity isn’t good either. Homeostasis has its points of balance. However, the high majority of people around the world have a surplus of acidity in their bodies, and would most likely benefit from increasing their alkalinity levels.
Food isn’t the only substance that can rise acidity in our body. Stress and anxiety are also known to lower pH levels. I am almost certain that hyper-acidic environment causes accelerated aging, depletion of the body’s vital mineralization, impaired enzyme activity, organ damage, and inflammation. This is why over the past few years, I continue returning to raw fruits and vegetables, especially when I am feeling stressed, anxious, depressed, or feeling low energy.
