Raw Foods are Better
Most people don’t realize the emotional influence that food has on us, and how we are affected by its ability to “fill us up”. Now days its normal to hear about people stuffing themselves with cooked food, in order to avoid feeling certain emotions. With a little awareness we can all notice this habit in ourselves.
This is the same pattern we see in people who consume coffee, sodas, and “energy drinks”, sometimes right after waking up. We also see this pattern on drug addicts who need their fix to “stay hi”.
Luckily, we can get all the pleasure and energy we need, from raw foods, and healthy human interaction. Warmth is available to us through movement and touch. Rest is available through sleep and meditation. We can gather energy from raw foods, the sun, the earth, conscious breathing, and a sense of purpose.
If you need ideas for raw meal plans and recipes, there is plenty of free information online. There is a growing community of passionate raw vegans eager to offer their support. At first, you might struggle with eating the right combination of foods or the right amount. The best thing we can do is learn, explore, experiment and find out what works best for you.
Don’t worry if you take a while to transition away from cooked foods. It is good to be skeptical, we all do it. Take it one meal at a time, give yourself the opportunity to notice how you feel when you eat more raw vegan foods. Notice what its like to Give Fruit a Chance.
